Resort Programs subject to change without notice

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Kamp Kiawah is a fully supervised program offered to children ages 3 to 11 by a full time recreation staff. There are half-day (3 1/2 hours) and day sessions (7 1/2 hours).

TEEN PROGRAMS
A dedicated staff of college interns provides activities to which your teens can really relate. Program samples: Night Volleyball, Frisbee Golf, Alternate Crafts, Day/Night Basketball.

WILDLIFE
Kiawah is noted for its impressive array of flora and fauna. Deer still roam the island. Heron, egret, ibis and osprey still fish the lagoons. Along the beachfront, Brown Pelicans cruise the wave-crests and every year, beginning in May, Loggerhead Turtles make their annual pilgrimage to the island's beaches to lay their eggs.

BOATING ACTIVITIES
Bohicket Marina Village is directly adjacent to Kiawah. Bohicket Marina offers an array of shops, restaurants and services plus boating and water sports galore.

Deep Sea Fishing: Half day of full-day charters. Offshore trophies include blue marlin, sailfish, white marlin, tuna, wahoo, dolphin, barracuda and amberjack.

Inshore Fishing: Sheltered coastal bays, inlets, creeks and rivers can yield catches flounder, trout, bass, even tarpon!

Boat Charters: Rental boats to sail, fish, crab or just sightsee. Complete varieties of water-sport activities including water-skiing and dolphin watching.

NATURE PROGRAMS
Understanding a Barrier Island: A barrier island is a unique tidewater landform running parallel to the coastline which features a wide, flat sand beach, a series of grassy dunes, a Maritime Forest, interior lagoons, meandering creeks and pristine salt marshes.

Adult Sunset Canoeing: A beautiful twilight paddle trip through Kiawah's scenic creeks and marshes. - Ages 16 or older

Marsh Creek Canoeing: Ages 6 years or older

Back Island Excursion: historical perspective tour

Birding Tour: Conducted by a staff naturalist on various species

Island Nature Walk: Focuses on Kiawah's maritime forests, lagoons, salt marshes, creeks and river environment

Ocean Seining: A 40-foot net is pulled through the surf, discoveries examined, then released unharmed.

HISTORIC CHARLESTON
An architectural masterpiece of 18th century homes that have remained in daily use and whose owners preserve their properties with a passion. House and Garden Tours offer a glimpse into the antebellum lifestyle. While in Charleston, you may also tour authentic plantations. The entire Historic Charleston area, the plantation districts and the Sea Islands are a shopper's Mecca for finding a lowcountry treasure to remember your visit. Charleston hosts a myriad of special events and festivals that will make you want to return to Kiawah again and again.
FAMILY PROGRAMS
Kiawah is a marvelous family destination! In addition to enjoying the beautiful 10 mile beach and other natural amenities, be sure to take advantage of boating, fishing, crabbing, jogging, biking, golf, tennis, in-line skating, swimming, shelling, shopping, dining sightseeing, and just plain relaxing. Kiawah Resort's Recreation Department plans activities the whole family can enjoy available during the summer months and major holidays. Some programs may have a nominal fee.
Samples: Weekly outdoor concerts, theatrical and puppeteer productions, "Dive-In" Movies, poolside Bingo, ice cream socials and trivia, basketball tournaments, natural and historical "Discovery Series", sand sculpture contests, Symphony in the Park, art shows.

KIAWAH ISLAND GOLF
Kiawah is a golfer's paradise. Three of Kiawah's four championship courses are ranked among Golf Digest's Top 75 resorts!

The Ocean Course:
This Pete Dye design hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup and 1997 World Cup and was named "America's Toughest Resort Course" by
Golf Digest.

Osprey Point:
Tom Fazio designed this Par 72 course around four large natural lakes. There's water on 15 holes!

Turtle Point:
This demanding Jack Nicklaus course has been updated and features breathtaking oceanside holes. Par 72. 6,333 yards.

Cougar Point:
Redesigned by Gary Player with water on 10 holes to challenge you. Par 72, 6,523 yards.
